Forms & Supply, Inc. leaves ADP's eTIME for Labor Strategy Application

"We weren't looking to leave ADP's eTIME system; however after looking at the numbers we saw that we could save substantial dollars with Labor Strategy. The elimination of eTIME's monthly fees would pay for the Labor Strategy system in less than three years and save us more than $7,000 annually thereafter. Our managers like the Labor Strategy application better than eTIME because of the flexibility, ease of use, and the ability to see up to the minute information on our intranet. I would highly recommend the Labor Strategy product."

Overview

Forms & Supply was using the eTIME system at three locations: their corporate office in Charlotte, NC, an office in Colombia, SC and an office in Greenville, SC for 4 years. They had approximately 150 employees on the eTIME system, using a clock at each location. Forms & Supply was spending approximately $7,000 per year on the system. ADP’s payment model did not allow Forms & Supply to take ownership of the software or the clocks. This $7,000 per year is not a fixed cost; it typically increases 1-3% per year. The system was installed on their network and computers and was supported by Forms & Supply’s IT and payroll department. During ADP’s eTIME tenure there, Forms & Supply received no upgrade on software or clocks in return for their annual payment.

Solution

The initial point of interest was the savings associated with owning the time and attendance system. Forms & Supply reviewed the cost of an outsourcing payment model. Labor Strategy was able to provide a web based application that could be configured to meet the needs of Forms & Supply. The manager’s self-service is able to supply relevant labor information to all appropriate management levels. The system is also able to provide a more robust reporting tool for management. The key is Labor Strategy is able to completely integrate into the ADP payroll system. The decision to switch systems was not driven by dissatisfaction with the eTIME system. The decision to switch was made because it made fiscal and functional sense. Forms & Supply was able to get a product with more functionality at a lesser cost, but lost nothing from an integration standpoint.

The system conversion / implementation was simple, and was completed in less than a month. Forms & Supply was using the new system even earlier than planned.
